Normally Chinese New Year is a bit low season for online shopping, because the shipping stops during the holiday. However, a recently released report from Questmobile shows different situations this year.
1. Booming of fresh food e-commerce The average time spent on fresh food e-commerce each day increased by 56.2% during CNY and 96.4% two weeks after CNY. DAU (Daily Active Users) of leading APPs like DingDong (叮咚买菜) and Alibaba’s Hema increased by 93.1% and 42.1% respectively.

2. Leading e-commerce platforms including Taobao, JD and Pinduoduo are taking social responsibilities and providing support to help farmers sell agricultural products.

3. Offline shops start to go online. Through setting up e-commerce mini program, managing customers groups, and live streaming, more and more offline shops start to sell online.

4. Logistic companies start to develop “Contactless” delivery service.
